As you push up the HP & Tork in your 5.9 or your Big Block Gas engine the RPM's goes up with it.  The stock pumps just aren't designed to run those RPM numbers, they over pressurize the system and start relieving the freeze plugs of their duties.  The pump will also cavitate the pump possibly causing it to overheat.
